a Sonny inspired nursery
This past spring we welcomed a new addition to our family, a little boy, named Sonny.
Previously, the nursery in our home was very gender neutral, so it was due for a refresh! We wanted to add colour and pattern and take the room from sad beige to vibrant and cheery! I still loved the trim detail and accent ceiling colour, but wanted a fresh twist for our newest boy.
Quick reminder of the before…

While the space worked perfectly for our son Rowan, adding some vibrancy and colour was definitely the right move for us!
We started by painting the ceilings a subdued blue colour, Silver Lake by Sherwin Williams!
The rest of the refresh was purely cosmetic (other than adding a few book shelves) and we landed on this sweet space for our Sonny boy.
Laying out this Loloi rug added so much to the space, I adore the pattern and colour it adds to the space, and it’s real wool and incredibly soft!
I’m also such a sucker for IKEA curtains, so we swapped in these golden/yellow room darkening curtains and I loveeee how the yellow compliments the blue ceiling!
As much as I love everything vintage… I decided to sell our vintage dresser in exchange for a new wood dresser. I was tired of sticky drawers and wood shavings on the baby clothes. I scoured the internet and found this dresser that is solid wood, affordable, and the perfect size for a change table!
A few little changes and it completely transformed this room to a sunny inspired room, for our sweet Sonny boy!
